Captain Jared D. Porter marsh

Captain Jared D. Porter is the Recruiting Flight Commander, Detachment 205, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  In this capacity, he leads, recruits, and evaluates potential Air Force Officers.  Additionally, Captain Porter is the lead instructor for the AS100 (Freshman) curriculum.  Prior to assuming his current duties, Captain Porter served as the Deputy Chief of Wing Intelligence for the 22nd Operational Support Squadron at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas.

Captain Porter commissioned in 2008 through AFROTC Detachment 450 after graduating from Montana State University.  Upon commissioning, Captain Porter was assigned to become a Combat Systems Operator. After attending Undergraduate Navigator Training at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, Captain Porter was assigned to Hurlburt Field, Florida as an AC-130U Navigator. In 2013, Captain Porter cross-trained into the Intelligence career field. 

Captain Porter has deployed to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, as the Air Mobility Command En-Route Senior Intelligence Officer, where he was charged with providing en-route intelligence support to aircrew supporting OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, and OPERATION UNITED ASSISTANCE.
